What is a sample sale wedding dress?
A sample wedding dress is a gown that has been displayed and tried on in our boutique rather than a brand-new dress ordered directly from the designer.
As our collections evolve and new gowns arrive, we make selected boutique samples available to purchase through our Sample Sale Lounge.
Because they are ex-display gowns, they are offered at a fraction of their original price — meaning you could discover an incredible designer wedding dress for much less.
Is a Sample Sale Lounge appointment right for me?
Our Sample Sale Lounge is a faster-paced bridal appointment designed for brides who are ready to find their dress and take it home that day. It can also be a fantastic option if your wedding is a little closer and you don't have the time needed for a traditional made-to-order wedding dress.
For this reason, it's best suited to brides who have already tried on wedding dresses and have a good idea of the styles, silhouettes and details they love. Having an idea of what you're looking for means you can make the most of your appointment and focus on the Sample Sale gowns that have caught your eye.
If you're at the very beginning of your wedding dress journey and haven't tried any gowns yet, we'd recommend booking one of our Aurelle Private Bridal Appointments. This allows for a more relaxed environment with much more time to explore what you love!

How does the Sample Sale Lounge work?
1. Browse our Sample Sale wedding dresses
Start by exploring the gowns currently available in our Sample Sale Lounge online.
You'll find dresses from designers including Maggie Sottero, Evie Young Bridal and Aurelle Exclusive, with everything from sleek satin gowns and romantic lace to sparkling tulle, fitted silhouettes and full A-line wedding dresses.
Our online selection is updated as dresses become available or are sold.
2. Choose the dresses you'd love to try
Spotted something you love?
Make a note of your favourite gowns before booking your appointment. Sample Sale dresses must be requested when you book so that our team can have your chosen styles picked from storage ready for you to try.
As there is only one of each Sample Sale gown, availability can change quickly.
3. Book a Sample Sale Lounge appointment
Our Sample Sale gowns are available to try by appointment only.
Book a dedicated Sample Sale Lounge appointment and tell us which dresses have caught your eye when completing your booking.
Then comes the exciting part — trying them on!
What sizes are Sample Sale wedding dresses?
Each Sample Sale gown is available in its individual boutique sample size, which you'll see on the dress listing.
It’s important to remember that wedding dress sizing is different from typical UK high-street sizing. Bridal sizing can also vary between designers, so the number on the label may not be the same size you usually wear in everyday clothing.
For this reason, we recommend you don't automatically rule out a Sample Sale dress because the labelled size isn't your usual. As a general guide, it can be worth considering gowns around a size down or two sizes up from your usual size, as the fit will also depend on the designer, silhouette, fabric and construction of the dress.
Measurements are often much more helpful than the size number alone. Get in touch with our team if you are unsure and we’ll be happy to help guide you!
Our recommended seamstress can also adjust most wedding dresses by approximately 2–3 sizes smaller or 1–2 sizes larger, depending on the construction and style of the individual gown.
What condition are the dresses in?
Our Sample Sale wedding dresses are ex-display boutique samples, so they may show signs of having been tried on or have minor imperfections.
That's part of the reason you're able to find such beautiful gowns at significantly reduced prices.
You'll have the opportunity to see and try your chosen dress during your appointment, so you can look at the gown and its condition before deciding whether it's the one for you.
Can I order a Sample Sale dress in another size?
Our Sample Sale gowns are one-off dresses, so the Sample Sale price applies to the individual gown available.
If you love a particular dress but aren't sure whether the sample size will work for you, get in touch with us and we'll be happy to advise on the fit and possible alterations.
What happens when I find my dress? 🤍
Found the one? As our Sample Sale gowns are one-off ex-display dresses, purchasing works a little differently from ordering a made to order wedding dress.
As our Sample Sale gowns are already here waiting to find their bride, there’s no made-to-order lead time. You can find your dream dress, take it home the same day and enjoy a beautiful designer gown at a significantly reduced price.
Payment is made in full on the day and you'll be able to take your wedding dress home with you straight after your appointment — no waiting for your gown to arrive!
Please keep in mind that Sample Sale gowns cannot be reserved or placed on hold. With only one of each dress available, a gown remains available until it has been purchased.
All Sample Sale purchases are non-returnable, so you'll have the opportunity to try your chosen gown and view its condition during your appointment before making your decision.
